English
@ Oxford is happy to organise your accommodation in Oxford. You
can either stay with a local host family, or in a hotel of your
choice. Here is a little more about these two options:
Host family accommodation
Living with a typical British family is an essential part of integration
into British culture. The families are all located near to the school,
and have been hand-picked by our accommodation officer for the quality
of relationships that they establish with the students. Each student
is placed in a family that we believe will be suitable.
Typical profile of an e@o-Host family
Alison,
Richard and their two children, Thomas (12) and Laura (10) live
in a lovely house in the quiet residential area of North Oxford.
Alison is a part-time nurse for children with special needs, while
her husband, Richard, is a marketing manager for a financial consultancy.
The room reserved for students has a double bed and desk. The student
also has his own private bathroom. The house is very clean and homely
with an attractive garden. The family is active and enjoys meeting
new people form different parts of the world.
Hotel accommodation
Some of our students prefer to stay in a hotel. This allows them
greater freedom, and more time to themselves. Oxford has a hotel
to suit every budget; from
the Richmond hotel (which is excellent value for money, very central
with a friendly atmosphere), to the comfortable mid-range guest
houses (mostly within a 20 minute walk from the city centre), and
not forgetting the luxury hotels such as the Cotswold Lodge and
Old Parsonage hotel, where nothing is too much trouble! The choice
is yours.
